some brands of tankless will function with pre-heated water - others won't -

I was talking to my brother about using solar heated water with a tankless hot water heater. Since he installs heating systems (mostly geothermo) in the midwest, he said he was going to look into it. If he ever does I'll post it, because if it works, he will use/sell it and will have first hand experience with it. He is one of the first out there to start selling geothermo heating systems to the general public and it sounds like he always has 4 to 10 homes lined up.

Take a trip to southern Spain or other parts of Europe.
Most apartment buildings have water pre-heaters on the roof.
The tankless water heaters are usually propane fired, quite small (maybe 18" X 18" X 8") and often mounted right on the wall in the kitchen.

Ya! I'll hop on the next plane. *8)
I did spend 3 years in *Germany, they used the tankless hot water heaters under sinks and stuff, but no solor where I was. I just am not sure it would work good here, because it is always cloudy and rainy. It would be nice to find someone who has aready done it, with out a gas powered heater. I'll look around and see if I can find someone local who does use it.
