I just found this site because I Googled "bad law" + verdicts and that gave me John Silveira's article about juries and the Milgram experiment.
The Milgram experiment was recently revisited and the results were shown on an ABC program.
I found it :o
And that's to say the least.
The conclusion they drew was that most people who deferred to authority, were almost sure to ask if they had to.
Those who took personal responsibility were far less likely to hurt someone simply because they were told to.
I was astonished that only about 30% of people in the study took personal responsibility.
Thank you for a great article. It fits right in with one of the main things I've been thinking about since I saw that program a few weeks ago.
