Default Taking the plunge...

Hello everyone, well I've finally decided to enter into the world of forums and posting/replying to post, we recently bought 3 acres of water access land and started to build our cottage/retirement home on it. We've been subscribing to the magazine for years and every year when I renew I always threaten Rhoda that I'm going to write our story and send pictures(but I never do) however I believe this is the first step. It's an offgrid home with many other little issues, it's on bedrock very hard to dig for a well, etc etc etc... anyhow I just thought I would come to the forum say Hello and thank you for all the help and advice over the years... and stay tuned for a ton of questions, we have many unresolved issues and I know that with all the knowledge that is in this forum we can find a solution to most of our problems, again just saying Hello and thanking you all in advance for the help.

There are a ton of pictures every year since we started building in 2006 we take pictures every step of the way... it truly is amazing and yes one day I will organize them all, thus far they are just sorted out by year this years albums contains the plumbing, a solar water heater, my clawfoot bathtub and some pre-finished pickled pine on the bathroom and bedroom walls and ceiling... I will post some in the future, thanks for the warm welcome.

Hi, Just post 2 or 3 at a time. How many sq ft is the house? We built our own house but we didn't have to build on rock, nice soil and only has to go 100' for well water. Really good tasting well water too. Hope you can get a well drilled. Jo in Wa state
