Question Dave Ramsey - which of his books do you recommend?

I would like to get some of Dave Ramsey's financial advice books - but in looking on Ebay there are many different ones, and some sets...any recommendations?

I recommend Total Money Makeover to start with. Read that one, then if you like his ideas and want to follow his advice, find a Financial Peace Class to take somewhere near where you live, or order the online version. We have read all of his books and have taken his Financial Peace Course. It is wonderful to be out of debt, live on a budget, and be in charge of how we spend our money. Also, you can listen to him on the radio - check out his website to find a radio station in your area that carries his radio show. Let me know if you have more questions. We are BIG Dave Ramsey fans.

Check them all out from the library. If you decide that you like one more than the others, THEN buy it!

TMM for certain. It has tons of good info in it that will make live much easier if you follow it later in life.

Get the TMMO book and workbook after checking out the book from the library. Keep an eye out for one of his $10 sales as the book and workbook are usually both on for that price. Also keep an eye out for him bringing his TMMO Live event to a city near you as I know when he was here in '08 or '09 almost everything was on sale for $10, books, software, DVD's, and so forth. I have both the TMMO book and workbook and the FP Revisited book and Planner. Let me know if you're interested in the FP book & planner & you can have them both for $20 to include shipping. However I may have to ship them media mail as it costs less, especially since it's going to Canada.

Total Money Makeover is the one I have read. I kind of had the practices down, but this gave me ideas to kind of focus so that I could make some real dents in my families debt. The inspirational part is what makes a big difference. If you read it, it seems so simple and makes so much sense that you feel compelled to start taking his baby steps.

I read his first book, Financial Peace in 2002, it is my favorite. It is not as well written as his following books but it was more powerful to me for some reason, probably just because of where I was in my life at the time.

If you read any of his books and put to practice the things he recommends you WILL be better off for it. I still read through it about once every two years or so just to keep the things he teaches fresh in my mind. Our family is better off thanks to him.

Yup - Total Money Makeover was most helpful to me. (But any of his books have something to teach well worth learning.) Check out his website too - you can often find his books on sale for $10 each.
The video bundle with him teaching the study series is wonderful, too! There are skads of Dave Ramsey videos on YouTube as well.

I bought Financial Peace used thru ebay...and brought it with me to a work convention that I'm at out of town. This week is the real pressure cooker in my work year, and going through it I find I often wonder can I do it again.
I found last night, reading Ramsay's book - helped put a bit of perspective into it. This is only ONE week out of my year, and the benefits are worth the stress. (If I have a heart attack or keel over from stress...you can tell me I was wrong!)

Went to Half Price Books recently and they had 2 autographed copies of TMMO for $20 each. I kinda wondered about the one that was actually dedicated to someone, didn't they like his program or what?

I would read total money make over. If you want more info. Take the FPU. It pack with lots of info. If you wait until it goes on sale on the web. It around $90.00. Spouses can go free with you. It usually goes on sale around Christmas time.
