Talking Another Arkie on board :)

Just got approved this morning! Been reading these forums for a little while and have read so many posts I wanted to reply to but couldn't that I finally broke down and joined, lol!!

I look forward to being a part of this community. And am GLAD that they have such tight controls in place regarding registration. Makes me feel much more comfortable being here and posting.

Now ... a little about ARHomestead ...

DH & I are professional truck drivers. Usually we drive team. However, with the decrease in freight over the past year or so, there hasn't bee much team freight out there so DH said I could stay home and get things started!

We live on 3 mostly wooded acres on a hillside. Very unlevel rough ground which, 2-4 feet down, is mostly shale. Makes things interesting sometimes!

I've got a small garden (my first so it's only doing so so). We've got chickens (they're finally starting to ramp up the laying) and are at 6 eggs out of a future 18 eggs a day. Our rooster is a PITA sometimes, but he mostly takes good care of the girls. And I love when he sings the egg song with the females! LOL

I'm in the process of building rabbit hutches now. We plan on getting 2 or 3 does and 2 bucks in the near future so we can start our own meat rabbit production.

Thinking about getting a couple of Nigerian Dwarf goats. We're not "big" milk drinkers but we do love our butter & cheese!

Anyway, that's a brief about us and what we're trying to accomplish!

Hiya Lincoln33 & txplowgirl!

I've mentioned coming back out with DH numerous times but he won't hear it. He knows if I come back out with him alot of our progress will be undone. (i.e. gardens, etc.) So, I sit inside during the heat of the day and play on the puter.
