Default MN Deer Rifle Opener

This Sat. I've spotted a nice heavy Buck on my property during scouting and archery season. Time to bring out my Uncles Savage 99 and give her a go.

How is the season treating others?

Here in NW WI..... I have had 2 young spike bucks come through the yard quite often this fall....

Starting about a week ago, there has been an 8 point graze his way through the yard, look at me through the patio doors, and continue on his way without a care in the world.... Seen him 3 times now....

Local paper has had pictures of some nice ones from bow season....

Good luck...

Muzzleloader season opens here in Tn. tomorrow. No luck during bow season, but hubby has only been out in the woods once, as he has worked every weekend.

We had about 2-3" of snow the night prior to opening. No real snow on opener, but was a horrid day for sitting. The temperature was just warm enough where the sun could melt the snow on the pines and drip on me all day.

The opener evening temps dropped a bit, we had more snow, then the second day was very windy\gusty and around 28F. Much better for sitting.

I picked up a heavy 8 point 185 dressed weight. My buddy picked up a smaller 9 point, we didn't weight but was probably around 160 lbs.

Loved having the snow so early in the season, spent all day yesterday scouting.

Hope everyone will have as good of luck this year!
