Default Ole Dan the Doxie

Ole Dan is one of my rescues.
Had him almost 4 yrs.

He has always had seizures and his meds have quick working.
Strangers(he is terrified of them) thunder and/or gun fire.
This past week we had some serious thunder storms---he started seizing and had a stroke.

He couldnt eat or drink,
Off to the Vets---and the Vet suggested it was time to put him down.
If you know anything about me--I just couldnt do it as long as I could maintain him.
I have droppers etc for babies.
I started eye droppering water to him.
Pureed some chickens.eye droppered (new word)that.

Now 5 days later he lapped his food and water today.
He pottyed on his own.
Have been taking him out and holding him until he could do his business.
Today he stood on his own.
He wags his tail now and watches me--

I just wasnt ready to let him go--he wasnt ready to go either.

Sometimes we give up too soon--on alot of things.

Glad to hear he is doing better, it is always hard to put down a cherished friend. Have had to do it three times, it is never easy, but sometimes it must be done.

Thank you---he's eating on his own--a little at a time now.
And today he went out the door by himself.

I have lost so many of these dear ones.
But noone wants the ole ones--our rescue group sees to it they are rehomed--only thing about that is we wind up keeping the ourselves. :
