Default Hellow from Nebraska

Have been visiting this site for some time learning. We will be moving to Bonneville County, Idaho in the spring. Going west on I80 in the winter is a bad idea. We are new retirees this month. We bought a house with 2 acres just outside of town due to health issues. I grew up in the big city (Big D). Came north to school and never went back to Texas. We want to do a little gardening and a lot of grandchildren spoiling. Also want to improve our prepper skills. I am a self taught gardener, canner, seamtress, and currently learning to quilt and knit. DH can do simple carpentery, plumbing, and electrical repairs.

TKAN06 welcome to the forum.
So good to have you.
Welcome to retirement.
If I left Texas,Idaho would be the only place I'd go.

Look forward to your progress and future post.

Default Hello from Nebraska

Yes the grandchildren are nearby. We have been tapped to do a little after school childcare. The oldest is in 1st grade and the youngest is in preschool. It won't be everyday as dad works a rotating shift. It will give us time to do things with them.
