Default Pietta .44 Cal 1858 Remmy

Last week I purchased two of these. One with the standard barrel, the other with the short barrel.

Prior, I had one of the cheaper brass framed navy pistols that I plinked with. My Father bought it for me (in his old age, he has developed a habit of buying things for me out of the blue - can't complain!)

I had to exchange the first long barreled pistol, as it would only go into full cock 50% of the time. Second one cocks just fine.

Haven't shot these two yet, but I sure have started to enjoy this BP revolver stuff!

Sounds like fun things to use...
I suspect we deserve a range report with pictures....
But will understand if that has to wait until warmer weather...

Enjoy...

It's only been a week since I've been in the field with a firearm and I'm already getting a little antsy to be back out. I will take a little break, but I think I will need to get out mid-winter for some yote hunting - probably swing by the range then.
