It is the fault of the The high prices of domestic manufacturers. If you can afford to overpay then have at it --- good for you. But most buy the best value .

The Government!!!!

Who allowed us to become mired in debt to the Chinese? Certainly not the blue collar Joe who bought an offshore crescent wrench!

Were you "overpaid" when you worked?

We aren't "mired in debt to the Chinese"

Most of the US debt is owed to the American people

People buying based only on price is why we can't compete with third world countries

Very good post until you blamed the consumer for not competing with third world - that's absurd. Any sale is nothing more that a contract between a willing seller and a willing buyer at a agreed upon price . Why don't you blame the seller for their high american prices ? better yet why aren't american manufacturers not manufacturing what people want to buy ?

You answered questions I didn't ask, and avoided the one I did ask

The "seller" has to make enough profit to live in a FIRST world country
If he was satisfied living in a one room shack he could work for less

They are, but you want to buy a cheap COPY when you could have the real thing

Oh no, we're not indebted to the Chinese? Why do you think there is so much commerce with China then? Don't say its because the public wants it. Its being forced upon us by the Government. Its one way we pay the debt to China by allowing them to flood our market with goods. Who do you think is buying up vast amounts of American assets? China owns more of this country than we do. And its all because of our government allowing us to become indebted to them.

You seem to be having trouble with sticking to reality.
If you have to lie to make a point, why bother?

16% of the debt is owed to the Chinese

84% is not

And you believe this pie chart you found on some website, is accurate, and truthful? You must also believe in the tooth fairy and that Obama has made us all safer!

I don't know where he got the numbers . Actually china owns about 7.2% as of last Oct with Japan a close second At 7.0.

But china phobia drives irrational fears

I thought the link I posted that takes you to the source might give you a clue

I haven't seen them make blatantly false statements
I can't say the same about you

Maybe you could attempt to show some data that proves "China owns more of the US than we do".

Otherwise, I'll have to go with the credible sources

Why don't you all take this fight to your own thread and let the rest of us get back to the original subject.

I just bought a new High Point 9mm.
It is considered by many to be junk but I trust it to work.
It was $138 new with a life time warranty and it came with a ghost ring site.
I took it to the range last Saturday and it worked flawlessly.
At 7 yards every shot was on target.
Close enough to stop a man or animal.
It isn't as pretty as my Kimber but I can buy 8 High Points for what one Kimber cost me.
It's my truck gun.
My home defense is a 12 gage pump and a Sig P938.
