Default Hello from Northern Wis.

I have been reading here for a while and want to say Thank You to all of you. There is such a huge wealth of information here and I hope in some way to help contribute to that.

I spent so much of my life chasing more money only to finally (in my mid 40's) realize that all I was doing is working more and more to pay someone else to do things I could have done myself. Now, on the cusp of turning 50, I have such a deep seated desire to stop the insane chase and do for myself.

Howdy and Welcome from MN.

Your quote is exactly where I'm at in my life as well. Could have written it out myself, word for word. Probably not a strange coincidence.

Welcome from another delayed pioneer about to move to WI. But I'm not as hardy as you north woodsmen. I'll be basking in the mild climate near The Dells. Winter only lasts nine months of the year there. I gather from your other posts that you're just settling in at a new homestead. Where'd you come from?

I have owned my place 5yrs now. Nothing fancy , just a mobile home on 1.8ac. It's enough for me though.

Wink Me Too

Howdy Northwoods1, I have about 5 years left of being in the rat race. I have a place up north (Ashland area ,out in the woods) where I will retire. I am going to find a very big woman to keep me warm on chilly nights. Enough of the working for the man mentality. This governor that we have is destroying our state.

Welcome home Northwoods1. I think we are seeing an influx of people who feel as you do. It's time to get real and get back to what's important in life. Glad to hear the forum has been helpful. There's a lot of helpful, knowledgeable people here. If you have any questions, speak up. Otherwise, just pull up a chair and visit awhile. I look forward to your posts. Sue
