Several things, I guess....

A dog left tied outside of the pet shelter is too bad.. I've also seen that.. However a LOT better than having the dog abandon several miles out of town, on it's own and all the dangers to the animal that goes with that...
Why did out ancestors settle where all the snow, wind, and predators are.. I heard the same things about Wyoming.... Different predators and landscape, but same questions...
Unusual, unnatural predators are a situation that could/should not be tolerated, or should have never happened... Whether it is Nile lizards along the Gulf states, or Zebra Muscles in the Great Lakes and the occasional typical looking Russian wild boar pig spotted not far from here in WI... These things are just totally irresponsible...

But that is how humans are....
Always fresh.

We only have the feral cats (aka neighbors' let outs) stalking birds and giant alley rats (that look like cats) in our yard(s). Oh, an occasional opossum that keep to themselves.

The human variety - lots of that, unfortunately.

We've had every car we've ever had stolen, except for this one. One car, we think the city stole (there was a write-up in the newspaper and the methods were similar). Just hard to steal a Honda CRV...

The city - another kind of predator, LOL

Most reptiles are edible

The buzzards can have a feast, on me, anytime I kill one!
