Really like stuff like this..
It has been many years (pre internet ?) that I have read anything about the Red Baron, but last I knew a Canadian pilot (someone Brown ?) was given credit... Mostly just to put an end to the controversy air or ground fire (Canadian troops ?) that was the cause..

Supposedly the bullet that went through his body and was found in his coat was lost in the early 1940s when the Japanese made an attack on an Australian base.. Supposedly the bullet would have been proof positive as the ground machine guns had a different direction of rifling twist as the plane mounted machine guns of that time.. No idea of the details of how the bullet got to Australia..

Those guys had guts to do what they did in there "kites"...
Thanks for sharing..

Thumbs up

Very interesting indeed. I watched three of the films, and wish I had time to watch more.

Thanks, Don.

Wood, linen, baling wire and lacquer. The ICE was only 2 decades old and the 1st powered flight only 12 yrs earlier. Note them oiling the external valve push rods/rocker arms manually before the flight. Were those guys amazingly brave or absurdly stupid?
