Default A Question for Doc

Doc, I'm starting to have some circulation issues in my lower leggs I guess. In Aug we were at the airport and I tripped on a step. I got a small wound and a larger, can't say brused but it was/is red, area about 5X5 on my lower shin. It took at least 4 weeks for the wound to heal and it's still not 100%. It's not a real scab but more like a layer of dried skin. The red area is still about 4X5 and at times it is reder than at other times.

There never has been much pain except for the first 3-4 days.

Any thoughts?
Thanks
Oz

Have you ever looked up cellulitis? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cellulitis

Thanks Terri but it looks nothing like the photos that are there. No pain at all after the first few days.
It's an even red. Not blotchy at all. There are times that it almost disappears but if I'm on my feet much it tends to get redder.

I guess I'd better go see a doctor about it.

Chances are it's no big deal. but if it isn't going away to your satisfaction, let your doc see it. A picture's worth a thousand words, as they say.

Cellulitis is a possibility, but less likely given that it's already several weeks old. More likely is that things just take longer to heal after a certain age and a discoloration from a deep bruise can easily take weeks to go away. I have bruises on my bruises' bruises on the backs of my hands just from routine barnyard chores and don't remember bumping myself at all. [Is that because I have a bruising problem or am I losing my memory?]

Another consideration is a circulation problem-- smokers and diabetics in particular.

Smokin' doesn't enter the picture. Never have.
And just had a physical so diabetis is not a factor either.
I know I spend way to much time at the computer.

Thanks for your imput Doc.
