Default Dehydrated Mushrooms 2008

Hen of the Woods from 2008.

Was a bumper crop year and I dehydrated what fit into a short bed pickup, not stacked. Yes that many. GF was nuts with spiders and such coming out before they all got dried. If you soak them all the bugs will crawl out and can be let outside.

I sliced, and dehydrated well to the point they snapped when bent. Packed into qt canning jars and heated to warm in oven then closed lids, they all sealed when cooled. Stored in cool basement out of light since.

Opened up some recently and added to various dishes for sauces. Once hydrated and cooked almost as nice as fresh. Have done tomato sauces and onion/garlic/pepper mixes for chicken and beef dishes.
