Default Help making a website

I have never done it. Been planning on doing it eventually. Though its to soon for me to start now, I do plan in about a year or two to have my own website that promotes science and discovery.

Like KhanAcademy but different structure.
Its a teaching alternate site to help those who truly want to learn for free of charge, and educate in specific subjects. I wont tell you what its about, since its my own ideas.

I have no computer science experience, no background at all in webdesign, know absolutely nothing in making a site so every little detail that you know helps.

If you guys have any information that you know, let me know of the difficulties, cost, boundaries, and how this process works, links would help as well.
