Default rustic Christmas decorations

I saw on a website a pair of cowboy boots used to make a door decoration for Christmas. I have an old pair of my daughter's cowboy boots that she wore out, so I tied them together and put dried limbs, pine cones, and a burlap bow on the boots and got a door decoration to go under the barn star on the front door and didn't cost anything to make. When it gets time to decorate for Christmas I will add some holly branches with red berries to the boots and that will be my door decoration for Christmas.

Still looking for other homemade Christmas decorations to make that are simple.
Thanks

Do you have extra fabric lying around? I used plaids and ripped strips of fabric until I had enough. Then I tied them around strands of Christmas lights until the strand was full. It makes a very primitive looking strand of lights. These actually sold at a craft show I went to. I sold them for $5.00/strand.
