Default Has anybody tried to naturalize mushrooms?

I do dearly love the common mushrooms at the grocery store, but that variety grows in composted manure. And, I do not wish to deal with manure, composted or not, inside my home.

So I buried some mushrooms downhill from the chicken run.

Between the spores from the caps and the bits of soil at the base, I hope to get some growth. And, since the lawn mushrooms are ALWAYS white, and I chose brown Portabella mushrooms, I should be able to tell which mushrooms are domestic Portabellas and which are toadstools.

Has anyone naturalized mushrooms around your place? If you were successful, which varieties did you plant?
