Default Carbon Copy HD backup

I'm get ready to upgrade my OS and want a reliable backup. I have a USB HD that has time machine backups but want a bootable drive backup just in case.

I was wondering about Carbon Copy and their 30-day free trial. If you backup with this does it stop working after 30-days? Or will it just not be able to update after 30-days?

Any other comments on Carbon Copy will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

It is a 30 day trail and it will only allow a certain amount of data to be backed up. It is valid for 30 days. Then you have to purchase it to use it.
