Default Buy one get one free is MUCH better than full pric

The local gardening store is trying to sell off their slightly battered remaining vegetables, just in time for me to want to fill in any gaps in my rows of vegetables. So, I bought eggplant and zucchini and peppers and a package of beet seeds.

This years harvest will be amazing, and I intend to double crop some things as well. My peas are starting to fade in this heat: beets will replace them.

Glad your garden is doing so well, Terri. Ours is just getting going. I have to side-dress this weekend.

Don, do you use a cold frame? Mine did well for me this year: I had to throw extra covers across it a couple of times but it was giving us a generous yield of salad greens when the rest of the garden was just a few inches tall!

I have used them in the past, but don't currently. I have trouble bending now, but I do have 4 greenhouses:1 attached to the house, 1 attached to the old barn and 2 freestanding. I did use a cold frame in a greenhouse one year, per Elliott Coleman. It did okay as well.
