Default Remember Me? I.F./L.F.O.D.

Been away awhile. After 2 computers died, I gave up on home access for a long time, and could not use BHM forums, etc. at work.

It's Imminent Freedom (I.F. 1998-2000) A.K.A. Live Free Or Die (L.F.O.D. 2000-2003), back again. The escapee from Canadian Socialism, refugee from bad gun laws and liberal social experimentation! Thought I'd use I.F. as a moniker again, as I am now waiting for my American Citizenship. We all got our Green Cards, which was an agonizingly slow bureaucratic nightmare. Details can follow if anyone's curious. In about 4 years, plus the current TWO PLUS years for 'processing' we can all become U.S. Citizens. By the time we can apply, it may be down to a few months. It will still cost hundreds of dollars each. It has cost many thousands so far, each.

We (most of us) are no longer in New Hampshire, thus "Live Free Or Die" no longer applies! The Porcupine / Free State Project was a complete disaster, for us at least. Details if anyone cares.

I no longer have any copies of the Post-E.M.P. story I wrote here years back, as all files were on now dead hard-drives. If anyone has any copies, I would love to work out a way to get them. Several similar books have come out, most excellent. I may write part-time, since the 'publish on demand' industry is now mature. Speaking of which, I would like to post reviews of several excellent books, some written by friends, if someone can tell me is this is allowed, and where? Whatever happened to Eric in England and his great Post-E.M.P. book I was so looking forward to?

Any comments on the SeeB.S. TV show "Jericho"? I hear they get hit by a high-altitude E.M.P. detonation next episode...

Well, I remember you. Sorry to hear it's been a long process for you and your family.

I wonder about Eric myself. Last heard he was on Today's Homestead, but that forum barely has a heart beat last time I was there.

Welcome back.

Hi Daf, it's been a long hard road, but worth it! I still think America is the greatest nation on earth. As an RN, I could have chosen to live and work anywhere in the world. I chose America, for so many reasons.

My oldest (20 now) is in college back in NH, then likely heading west. The rest of us are in VT, and will probably be here until my youngest finishes High School. I see Eric still listed here as a forum member. I hope he finished his book, or is still working on it.

Anyone notice that E.M.P. did strike on the TV show "Jericho" as I predicted? My short story here years ago was about life post E.M.P., as is Eric's book. Steve Stirling (S.M. Stirling) takes it one step further in his "Dies the Fire" / "The Protector's War / " A Meeting at Corvallis" series.

P.S. I like your quote from the poet I am named after...

So, where are: EMSMiller, BentPennyRanch, and Eric Methven? I see Alma and MyYellowRose still posting, hi! I remember all the neat stuff MYR sent me about San Antonio when I was still in Canada. I almost moved to Texas! Had great job offers in SA, Austin, Dallas and Houston. It was just too far from home for a first move. Just as well, as we were close to home for my mom, who later passed away.

NH was nice enough, but the folks there are somewhat 'xenophobic', to be polite. A huge reason the Free State Project will not work there, as they have already found. NH people are not welcoming to new / strange / foreign / immigrant / out-of-state / two-towns-over people. Unless you like to hear "you ain't from around here, are ya?" hourly, and get treated like you are suspected of being an escaped mass murdered or something all the time. NH has the largest concentration of rude, orenery people we ever saw. Not just me, all of us noticed it, right away. And we used to live in a big, impersonal city. Vermonters are MUCH friendlier!

Hi, Imminent Freedom.
I remember you with pleasure, and glad to see you here again.
I had a lot of things from the old emp story, but gave them to my son, i think, a long time ago.
I'm sorry to have had the story line go away.
Maybe ods can retreive some of it for us. It was really
nice to read now and then, and add to it off and on.
Will get back to you later when i can use sue's computer again. My internet died. Had the computer fixed, but haven't got back to the internet . I use sues most of the time, and only use mine to read old floppies, play magongg, freecell or read my documents, etc.
Gotta go. love, alma

Hi Alma, good to see you! Glad you enjoyed the old story, but sadly I kept no notes. See above for similar works. I suspect someone at CBS read my old posts! I see you have computer problems too. I have several new books started on an old hard drive, but no easy way to recover them.

Hot dang! *A legal immigrant American!!! *Please accept my heart felt welcome, glad to have a another patriotic American. *Hope to hear from you frequently. *Please understand that we have a couple Anti-Legal Americans here that probably won't be pleased at your legal status. *Don't dispair as they tent to be insignificant at best.

Hi I.F., I'd like to know the details on why the Free State Project was a bomb. Thanks,
