Default Homemade Plant Pots...

There has been some talk about homemade plant pots, potting cubes, and the like. Hope this is useful info.

I have seen where people take a sheet of newspaper, spray it with a mist of water and white school glue, wrap and mole the paper around a tapered water glass to create a pot, slip off the glass and set aside to dry.

Mix a tea spoon of school glue with a gallon of water.

Maybe a spritz of glue water on the outside of potting soil formed cubes, then left to dry. Would this help keep them together until ready to use ??

I've never tried any of this personally.
Remember, I'm the definition of black thumb, but I am pretty good at mechanical things.
This water, glue mix is also used when forming homemade sawdust or newspaper fireplace logs.
Always fresh.

Huh. I used to keep paper pots closed with tape, and the tape always came off after 2 weeks. I might try it with glue-water. Though it will be a while: winters here are not as long as they are in Alaska but they are not short, either

I also wondered about using flour as a binder in the soil blocks--just mix it with the dirt. Never tried it, but I have considered it. Perhaps spring will bring experiments.
