Just starting
rise of the warrior cop-the militarization of Americas police forces
By Radley Balko.

The first few pages are pretty interesting history of police forces.
Some interesting facts.
First real police dates to Romans. Interferestingly they went thru same warrior cop growth we are experiencing.

Did you know that originally that no soldiers were even allowed in the city at first. Thier intrusion in the city is the source of the phrase " Crossing the Rubicon. Caesar led his army across the rubicon and started the fall of Rome.
Or
That the first mention of the castle doctrine was by Cicero the roman statesman.

Got kind of saturated reading so many SHTF books in a row, took a bread and went back to my favorite western genre.

I really like this one. As I am closing in on the end, I am actually stopping after a couple chapters so as to make it last. Just looked this morning and found that there are 2 more books in this series - yeah!

Default The Smoke at Dawn

I just finished. Jeff Shaara's The Smoke at Dawn.
About the battle of Missionary Ridge pitting Grant and Bragg.

Another excellent book. I read this always accompanied by a good battle map.
