Haven't been here in a good while, thought i'd stop in and say hello. Hello to all the new folks and Hidy to everyone else.

Most of us who are still here are fine, I think, but most folks have moved on.

Doin' just fine from our part of the GWN -eh-

Yes. Seems you couldn't have got people to leave here faster with a sling shot and bag of road apples for ammo.

Too many changes of late for many people. No more magazine, and all. As nice as Self Reliance can be it isn't the old rag by far. But then the old rag would have a hard time selling in todays world. Seems most in print are or moving to a kind of Cosmopolitan in denim on glossy paper. I suspect that seems to be what sells to a bigger part of todays population.
As the saying goes. Not my cup of tea.. Or latte in todays world.

My 5 cents worth....

Add my 5cts----I think its a misnomer about noone reading the Old Rag---so many held dear.
A shot in the foot----on purpose.
With a magizine you can just pick it up and re-read an article--Now you'll have to go to your computer or phone and dig it up IF said machine hasnt conked out on you.

Alot can be said for the Ole Ways---I liked them.
BTW--Hi everyone.

Hi everyone! Been too busy to check in here in a while, but I'll try to do better.

I think the demise of the mag has hurt things here. I, too, have tried Self Reliance, and although it's not bad, it just doesn't have the same feel as BWH. Can't stand any of the other mags, either. Don't seem to be geared towards me, just the hobby farmer yuppies.

I just ordered the last two year's anthologies. Guess I'll have to get my BWH fix once a year. Better than nothing, as I'm not a kindle person.

Happy New ear everyone!

Hi Txanne, CountryMom,
Like you, I don't frequent the forum much anymore. It still has some value in that I love to watch the banter between Missourifree and Hunter88. Now that's entertainment! LOL! I do think that this forum is slowly going by the wayside. Sad for it to do so. Have a happy New Year to you both! Blessings to both of you!
