Default Another "Hello" from NE Kansas

I am also in NE Kansas and have briefly checked in from time to time, but since I find myself with more time I can now become a part of the community, I'm hoping.....

By they way, my name is Paul

I raise cattle, have a few chickens, two dogs and two horses. I love to garden and have many hobbies. I also have a new fledling online business to try and help. I don't work away from home and at times that can be challenging. But, the income from the calves takes care of most of my needs. I did work in the coop/feed/grain industry for several years.

I heat with only wood and have an ample supply here at home.

My old dog, Dog (named for Rooster Cogburn's dog), is almost blind. He is almost 12 years old and half Blue Heeler and half Australian Shepherd. Rufus, is a Border Collie and he will turn 2 in July.

Of the horses, Bubba is a 15 year old gelding I bought when he was coming 3. I have a 5 year old "filly" named Lilly. I didn't name her. The original owners named her because the lillies were in bloom when she was foaled.

Me, Dog, and Bubba, have been together for 12 years and up until the last year we were all 3 buddies and almost inseparable. Dog and Bubba were really buds..... they were always together, playing, or just being..... But, most of that has slowed since Dog has lost most of his sight. But, he still gets around and still manages to keep critters away from the chickens.

I have 3 ponds. Two are very small but the third is somewhere around 3 or 4 acres? It is well stocked and I enjoy fishing in the evenings through the summer. The last two catfish I caught were 6lbs and 7lbs.

I have rambled enough. I will stop before I put anyone to sleep. LOL Thanks.
