Default A big Howdy from WA

Hello from us here in S. E. WA. I am enjoying your site very much and love being able to join you in chat.
We live in the foothills of the Blues at the base of Little and Big Butte MT. We have lived here on this homestead since 2004. The place was built in the early 1930's. And needs lots of work and TLC.
I am from Wis and my husband is from Ohio, we met in Colorado. We have been married over 3 decades and have 10 children, 5 boys and 5 girls all adults lol sometimes i wonder about that adult part. We have 27 grandchildren and yes I do tend to lose count. They live all over the place from Germany, AZ, OH, VA, ID to here in WA. DH works down in the Lewis/Clark valley in the water field.
Our little place has 1 Jersey cow, 2 geese (George and Gracie), about 55 chickens, 1 peacock Bert ( bear got the peahen), 2 dogs Lizzie and Ginger and one cat named Tank (22 lbs).
We used to raise Yaks but sold the mated pair a yr ago and butchered the last one we had last fall. Makes life a wee bit easier. Yaks are very demanding for attention and ornery. (I got horned twice)
Our youngest who is 23 is living with us as of last yr and brought with her her beautiful red headed daughter who is now 14 months old.
I love to write and have 4 books on lulu, I also love quilting, beading, tanning, spinning wool, persevering foods and many other things.

Hi Sssara,

Nice to meet you. Sounds like you and your family have a nice homestead. Have no idea what a Yak is, but now know to stay clear of those critters, and gonna' look them up on the internet.

Welcome, welcome. I'm in Northern Idaho and a newbie to this site as well. I spend time in Northern California in the winter months; get to spend time with the four grandkids and daughter. Also use the time to plot and plan the next years gardening season and dream up things that need to get done around the place. Though, I don't think DH likes me thinking too much, because that means more work for him. LOL
