Default Hello from Oregon (for now)

Just a quick intro. I have read these boards for quite awhile but figured I may as well join and contribute at times.

I am a 34 year old single mom. When i was married we weren't complete "homesteaders' but on the way there. He was a city boy and just couldn't share my enthusiasm, but we had milk goats, chickens, gardens, etc. Well, I have been single for six years and am now beginning to make plans to buy land again and to it myself this time which, will probably be less challenging in many ways and more in others.

I currently am doing what I can . . . bloom where your planted right? I have a year round garden, live frugal, and every penny is going into savings now that all my debt is gone (other then student loans which will be forgiven due to my career choice).

I am very very drawn to Alaska but I also recognize homesteading thereis more challenging then here. I am considering northern AZ, N. California and a few other areas as well. Oregon is just too expensive to live the life i wish to live.

Ok well . .. guess that is my intro. Look forward to getting to know some of you.

Welcome.
I lived in Kalamath Falls for a couple of years.
Nice area.
If I was moving Oregon would be high on my list of places to live.
Not Portland or any of the other cities.
Maybe the Blue Mountains around La Grande.
You couldn't pay me to live anywhere in California.
I know there are nice areas in the state but no thanks.
