Default Hello All

I have been an online reader and occassional subscriber to Backwoods Home for a long time, and I am happy to finally be a member. I am a mother of three children and a middle school teacher in South Georgia. I enjoy introducing my children to the simplier things in life that actually have value and give life meaning.. I still have a lot to learn, but love the journey. I am currently trapped in mainstream society dreaming for a simplier life, but its complicated.. Maybe one day, but for now I will continue to be a small hobby farmer on six acres that can have simple moments..

Many of us would love to be on six acres and still employed so we could get the critters, the sheds, the cistern, etc. all in place. You have done well. Congratulations and welcome.

Welcome! Tonight was my first post, as well. I have been zipping all over the place, there are SO Many posts to read.
It sounds as though you have your goals in place, and now hopefully, little by little, you can accomplish them. Have the children help!

Good luck.........

Old timers will go 'here she goes again' but if you have time to read only one thread the whole way through, read, "What did you do today to prepare for whatever." It is a wealth of information -- lamp wicks? home made laundry soap? discussion of 12 v power? recipes? It's all there. I read and add to my lists!
