Default Hello from Alabama

Hello all,

I'm Heather from North Alabama. I've been a reader of Backwoods Home at different times for several years, but a subscriber for the past few months. I enjoy learning things about self-sufficiency. I am married with no children at this time. We would like to live a little further out in the country so we could have a small farm. We live in a small subdivision, so I don't have the ability to have chickens like I want to. I have a small container garden, but I would like to have a larger garden. I hope to learn more from everyone here. I am in the medical field, and hope to provide help in that area to anyone I can.

Hi Heather. Welcome.
Many here only have a small space but have the right mindset.
To do the best you can with what you have. Just take a few steps toward independence. Even one tomato grown at home means one you can enjoy and are not dependent on someone supplying it to you.

Smile I'm new too

Hi - I am Christi I live in McCalla - midway between Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. Looks like we have some of the same goals. My husband and I are getting our house ready to sell so we can buy a couple of acres and set up homesteading for ourselves.

Good Luck and nice to meet you!
