Default Hello from Maine

Greetings, this is my first day on the forum and i am so excited to have a place to ask questions and share new ideas. I am a 30 year old female married to a case ingersoll tractor enthusiast, but hey he keeps my gardens plowed and tilled! we bought 40 acres of land in downeast maine 2 years ago and we have tons of ideas, but are just getting started. This year the focus was the vegetable garden. I am an art teacher, but when i grow up I want to be a farmer. I believe that homesteading brings an elevated quality of life and i hope to learn more about it and become more and more self reliant every season!

Welcome from Florida, Shannon.
My wife is the farmer in our family.
Even though I have lived in Florida almost all of my 64 years, the blood in my veins is 100% Maine. All my ancestors are from York County, mainly the North Berwick area, going back before the revolution.
So, as we say Down South, come on in and set a spell. The coffee's always on.
