Default Injured dog- what should I do?

While walking home earlier I saw a mixed breed dog that I'm familiar with lying in a yard and went over to pet him. I wondered why he hadn't come to me and when I bent over to scratch his head I glanced down and he has a large cut/gash about 4-6" long on the inside his right rear leg that looks like it goes almost to the bone. This dog has an owner but obviously they don't care about him, I saw him Thursday morning and wondered why he wasn't using that rear leg, now I know. The trailer park owner has a friend/girlfriend that does dog rescue so I'm wondering if I should ignore the situation or try to get word to her that he needs help. What would you do under the circumstances? I don't know the owner of the dog, only know where he belongs because one of the maintenance men told me.

I would talk to the lady who rescues dogs and take it from there.
Not treating the dog is animal abuse. The owners should be in for it.

The dog needs medical help. By the sounds of the injury, left untreated it will get infected.

I don't know how to get in touch with the lady but I will talk to my neighbor tomorrow and see if he'll contact her about the dog. HH that was my thought exactly as it's a deep wide open wound though it wasn't bleeding when I saw it. I just hope she'll come and pick him up and get him help.

Call an Animal Rescue Unit Immediately.

The animal is suffering.
The owners dont care--so count them out.

I never wait fo others to do something.
They wont.
