It would tear a foot off I would think.
They use their pinky toes to guide them---talk about NO wiggle room.
I understand that make body cast then make the(tin can) molded to it.

Who sits around and thinks up these sports?

Todays events are the finish of the 20K biathlon (12.5 miles) And luge relay... Now I didn't know they had a relay.... There are 3 sleds in the relay... A womans single, a mens single, and a two person team.... The first one goes down and trips a hand switch at the bottom to signal the next one can start... And so of for all 3 sleds... Russian team is ahead so far...

In the long distance biathlon, (mens) France won.... Highest placing US skier was 8th place....

Take care...

The news did an interview with some old guys who looked it up and said every US hockey team that ever metaled in the Olympics had at least 1 player who grew up playing high school hockey some where in northern Minnesota.....

I haven't got to watch yesterday or today.... And I think Bob Sled will be tomorrow... Russia did win a big speed skating event also today....

Enjoy

OK.... So the Luge won't work out for me.... Couldn't see over my belly....
But... There is also a luge type sled that goes head first... Called the "skeleton" They were still doing 80mph.... Same results if you were to crash.... (ick)

Tonight is 2 man bobsled..... So far Russia is first, 2 US sleds, Switzerland 4th...
Jamaica just ran and are about 8th... They are doing about 80 or so mph... I suspect it looks like the same course they did the luge on..... ??? Not sure...

Yes.... I'm sure a lot of these events are of European origins... And Scandinavia also.... The snowboard events obviously evolved from US skate board beginnings....

Now they have cut away to ice dancing.... Very beautiful to watch a little of it....

Enjoy...

Yesterday and last night, there were several things.... Womens Biathalon... I think they can shoot better than the guys.... That was the way it was in Firearms Safety Class.... The girls were always better shot than the boys....

Ice dancing was on.... Some 2 man bobsled... And some 4 man sled runs....

The bobsleds seemed to run about the same speeds as the luge and skeleton sleds..... Only if you crashed a 4 man sled.... It would be the ankle of the guys behind you that would be the last thing to go through your mind....

Good luck...

I only get bits and pieces of all of it.
Those sleds running 85-90 mph brings up the pucker factor.

Skating was beautiful.
I love a little beauty in my life and its a pleasure to watch.

Dont get much of the ladies bio---they are great shooters.

OK Campers.... Tonight is mens downhill skiing of some kind or another....
I tried that several time.... Not to race.... Just to chase girls.... Didn't work out.... I was more concerned with not hurting myself....

Ladies figure skating starts tonight....

There was womens two person bobsled tonight.... Those chicks are hauling a$$....

Annie...... Beware... They are saying tonight that the US and Canadian hockey teams will be playing for a medal.... Not sure which medal.... Or when the game is..... Around here there are bumper stickers, usually on older cars, that say "give blood.... play hockey"...... And you know that if it wasn't for paying for a kids ice time etc.... The family would be driving a newer, better car.....

Enjoy

Anyone know why we aren't setting medal ceremonies? All I've seen so far is the "flower ceremony" after they win an event and that's it. Normally they would do the flowers and then the medals. I have yet to see anyone get their medal in tv.

CLee
I understand its a 2 day gape between awards--dont know why either--doesnt make sense.
Maybe its the distance they have too travel.

WYO----some of these speeds make me shudder---the down hill is a real killer-wow!!
blown knees,one broke back(lady).

And another maddening thought---WE USA tax out winners winings--the only country that does.

HOLY HIGH SPEED PUCK PASSING........

I didn't realize it was the US vs Canada womens hockey teams playing for the gold.....

Well I just watched the very last part of the 3rd quarter, 4th quarter and OT... Canada won....

Holy Cow.... Can those chicks skate and play hockey..... Man... I'm tired and sweaty just watching them....

This is the 4th time Canada has gotten gold... Don't know how many times in a row... And they are doing the medal presentation right now on the ice...

Not sure what else is to be shown today....

Good luck...

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaa--those are tough ladies.
I got the over-time part.
Penalties cost them on ice players.

Half Pipe Ski--wow these girls are so brave.
That snow is hard like pavement when they hit it.
They are something else.

I was totally sickened by the Ladies skate.
How can you fall and still win--and shove out ladies that worked a perfect program?

I had a feeling the American ladies were just a bit over confident/arrogant.
Loved to watch the tiny Russian---she cant weigh more than 85lbs.She was adorable.

Rumblings about a protest over judging.

Sat. is the big day--4 man team bob-sledding.

Yeah, the same thing happened in the men's skate. The Japanese guy that looked like a girl fell on his butt twice and still got the gold. I don't get how that can happen. I know he had a high score in the short program, but still....

Look out Annie.......
Seems the mens hockey medal game is to come..... Maybe today, Friday... Not sure.... Again, US and Canada..... I'm not sure I'm rested up from the ladies game.... I better take a nap....

I've watched a little of the figure skating, but not watched the scores...
There was also some question about how the condition of the track was during some of the Luge?, skeleton?, or some sled event.... That being the track was maintained at a colder temp when the Russians ran, and warmer (slower speeds) when other countries went.... Don't know what ever came of that rumor....

Four man bob sled..... Go Jamaica, mon.....

Enjoy

Getting on the OT ladies Hockey game like to have given me a heart-attack.Now thats a game for tough ones--they play for blood---knocking the bejebbers out of each other.

I will be watching Sat. for our Jammies to run--love that team---I'd love to see them win.
I dont think they KNOW they can win.

yeah the ice was in bad shape from the warm temps---Rusians got to go first--Go figure those wins?
