Default Sales

Had to make a small hardware run to Chinamart yesterday.
They had a massive clearance on fabric.

Now more fabric isnt something I need more of,BUT do we continue to take advantage of sales for future survival use?

I have argued with myself over this as its a weakness, I love fabric.

I have a "stash" in my studio. It's fabrics I buy on sale that I may not need at the time but know I will use at some point. Most of it is fabric to make clothes for our grand daughter. LOL. Really should buy more for us.

I bought material for quilts last Thanksgiving when out town. For the quilt tops as had material for backs. Wish I could have hit a sale. Made a dent in my budget and know I would not get back down there for a year most likely. Buy when you have the chance for me.

When I go to cities I check for material. Walmart is getting in new materials but not what I want.

Just to get the tops did up.

I have enough fabric that I should never have to buy any more BUT I can't resist....I sew A LOT (mercenary me) but I just love the feel, the smell, everything about fabric....I love to get fabric at estate sales and sewing notions at estate sales....often with needles threaded stuck in spools of thread....makes me envision the woman before me and wonder what she was making....and I try to make good use of her tools when I buy them!!! I'm also the same way about yarn....I guess that's two addictions I will have to live with because I DON'T WANT TO CHANGE!!!!! Just wish I had more money to fuel those addictions!!!

One who dies with the most fabric did not sew fast enough.

I bought material for quilts again the Wed before Thanksgiving as was out of town and found type I wanted. I had saved for that and stocked up. I wish I could get to sales. I want to make a set of deer, elk , moose, antelope quilts got wolves and bear and Mt lion and buffalo, eagles and birds. Panels. blocks and print. Just got to design them. I do not have totes so sort to bags of each animal. Some I have to cut the block apart. Some I could not get enough material as all they had. I need to do some cutting and more sorting.

Default Oh, Suzy

You are a woman after my own heart. Estate and garage sales are my favs, they don't seem to happen where we are now. I think the best thing is to find a quilt cut out, and complete it, hoping you are doing what the first owner intended.
