Default Prayers Please

Asking for prayers for my future FIL.

He is in treatment for Stage IV Bone Cancer, initiated by Melanoma.

He has come close to becoming a Father Figure for me. I've known him for 7 years now, and he is a very compassionate person.

I've learned so much from him, he is the best hunter that I've ever met. We've spent a great amount of time in the forest hunting together.

He has taught me so much. They say he has 6-12 months left, but I refuse to admit that. Everyone seems to think that is the limit of his life left, but I can't come to terms with that. So, I try to stay positive and think that we will have much more time together.

He is in his mid-70's, so he has been blessed with many year on this Earth.

Please join me in prayers to help him and his family deal with this crisis.

I pray for strength .. strength to allow him to live as long as possible, and to allow him to come to terms with his struggle. Strength, for our Family to continue to stay positive until his last breath.

... and .. strength, for us to process the grief in a healthy way, when the inevitable comes around ...

I try to focus on maximizing our quality time together, help out as much as possible, and trying to figure out how I can help his Wife live the rest of her life in peace.

Thank you.

What OL said.
Drs. say one thing, the human spirit says another.
My prayers for a peaceful time for him.

Hugs and prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know what you are feeling. Stay strong for you family. And be sure to let you FIL know what he has meant to you. For me, that would be a monumental task, but do as I say and not as I do. It's good advice even if I don't take it. I'm working my way up to telling my Father....before it's too late.

I thought about this for a minute then my heart dropped to my gut, my vision become slightly restricted, and the temperature of my body raised instantly.

To communicate that thought deeply and honestly is a monumental task, I agree. To do that with a person has got to be difficult. I don't think that I've ever done that with another human soul, at least verbally.

Suppose it time to grow a set and do something like this with the FIL. Hell, maybe even with the GF.

I certainly know that I've lost the opportunity to do that with other Cherished Souls.

Spent the last four days Up North with My GF, Her Parents, and Her Brother.

The Old Man is rapidly losing energy and his pain is increasing significantly. The cancer treatments are causing havoc with his digestive system, and he is losing weight rapidly.

The Family are having issues with staying positive. I'm trying to continue to keep everyone focused on enjoying the Present without having the Future overshadow everything.

The GF has resigned from her position at the VA, and will most likely be moving up to support her Parents. I fully support this, and encourage her. When I lost my Mother, I had no warning. I stress the importance that everything that she can do for her Parents at this time in their lives will not only be beneficial for them, but also for her future mental health.

Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts, we really appreciate it.

I stayed with my mother in her last months. It was difficult, but I know I did everything I could, so did my sister. We had each other to get breaks, and our spouses for support.

Hang in there, and you have our prayers.

My prayers and hugs to each of you.
Taking this last walk with our loved ones is the most important things we can do for them.

Please take breaks---please eat/drink plenty of water---rest yourselves also.
Went through this for 22 months by myself---
You will get through this.
I am so sorry.

Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts.

Our Patriarch has received information that the tumors on his spine have reduced at a miraculous reduction - less than 20% as seen previously.

His digestion has improved to the point that he can eat regular food.

Today he had the energy to go to his wild blueberry haunts, and is harvesting.

Something that we never would have imagined.

It's still a long road, it aint over - but Thank You All for our Support.

Glad to hear of the improvement. It is times like this that make us all appreciate how wonderful life is and how it is so important to spend as much quality time with our loved ones as possible.

I wasn't here at the start of this thread, but I hope your FIL is well. I'll pray for him, and the rest of your family as well Kachad.
