Default Why I like the 9mm

http://looserounds.com/2014/09/21/fb...ning-division/

I have 40s, 357, 38s but still favor the 9mm in a handgun for self defense. If I had my choice for self defense and could readily grab a firearm, it would be a 12 ga shotgun with 000 buckshot or a .30 caliber rifle. But for everyday carry it's the 9mm. I can put more holes in a target faster with the 9mm. I like capacity with all the crazy stuff going on in this world. Now we have to deal with the lone wolves ISIS "BS" and other idiots playing too many "killing" computer games .

Just my $.02 .

I'm partial to the 9mm. Got one sitting here on the desk.

I keep an older S&W model 6904 9mm as my go to home defense gun. Its got a 12round mag plus one in the pipe, which I like. For Carry though I wanted concealment so went with a Ruger LCP in .380. If I had to make a pure number one choice I'd have to go with a .45ACP for stopping power over multiple shot capability. But unfortunately most .45's are just too bulky for every day carry.

If you're able to tightly group your shots then that's the right caliber (chambering) for you to use! Just so you know 00 buckshot produces tighter - Some say, 'harder hitting' - patterns than the triple ought.

Me? I'm able to tightly group either a 45 ACP, or a 9 x 19mm pistol in exactly the same way. Consequently I prefer to carry a 45 ACP. I do own and use both calibers, though. Anyway, ALL DEFENSIVE PISTOL ROUNDS ARE ANEMIC; and, 'shooting for group' is the key to putting the target down.

I've been considering 9MM since the published specs show some close to .357 mag in performance. DPX, Gold Dot and a few others are very popular. Basically, I'm a .45 man, but willing to consider something else if it will work.
