Default wood/oil steam boiler

Does anybody know of a combination fuel boiler that can be used on an old steam radiator system. I'm looking to keep the existing radiators and plumbing in place.

You won't find any wood fueled STEAM boilers because, without constant tending, they quickly turn into large bombs

That's true. If you are thinking of the old style standup cast iron radiators they , I believe could be operated as either hot water or steam . I don't know why they would have to be a closed system if just hot water .

Heat water to around 170-180 or so by any any fuel on an open system and then circulate it to a tank that supplies thru the various radiators by use of thermostats .
