Default Is D-Link Router Functional?

Would anyone know how to determine if a D-Link router is defective?

We are still having trouble connecting the Smart TV and computer to work at the same; D-Link thinks the router is defective (and we are under warranty for a replacement but will have to pay shipping to send it). D-Link didn't specify what exactly is wrong with the modem.

Hubby thinks they're saying the router is defective because they can't help determine what is really wrong that we can't connect properly. So we are unsure about spending more $$ to ship.

Someone else also suggested a router/modem combo for our situation, so we could buy that on Amazon for about $14.00 and skip the D-Link.

AT&T reps think the router is the problem.

Thanks for any insights.

Thanks for responding.

No messages.

But since I posted we bought a modem router.

It's supported by our ISP.

It seems to be working well; however, we are experiencing a problem with DNS once or twice a day.

But it's better than when we were dealing with D-Link.

We are trying to find solutions to the DNS problem now.
