Default tax free guns and ammo sale

Our lawmakers will be voting on a bill that will create a tax free weekend for guns and ammo sales in Texas the last weekend of August. Hope they do get it passed for I want to get something that has a little more fire power than a 22.
Thanks

South Carolina, Louisiana, and Mississippi already have tax holidays on outdoor sporting goods that include firearms and ammo.

Louisiana actually has two tax free holidays each year on anything costing less than $10,000. I am not sure if the first $10,000 on an auto, boat, tractor, etc. costing in excess of $10,000 is tax exempt or not.

Food & drugs are exempt from the tax free holidays.

your lucky if you can find 22 ammo, here in the police state of NY there hasn't been a box of 22 ammo on a store shelf in 6 months (norhtern Adirondacks), been picking off pests with 177 pellets. plenty of places selling guns, but not even the mighty Corporate juggernaut of Walmart can get ammo in stock. ammo is worth its weight in gold, $50 for a box of 50 22 rounds last time i saw them anywhere. was able to buy 10,000 rounds of pellets for less.
