Thanks ya'll. Hubby and I are excited.

Ya'll will get a kick out of this...I haven't even gotten the title in the mail yet, and I have already gotten mail from the parish tax assessor's office - to fill out and send in an application for use value assessment. They don't waste any time, do they? lol

Heh, same thing happened to me. Go figure, eh?

Congrats .. sounds like you're starting about where I was two years ago. I'm already behind schedule on my plan, but sure having fun acquiring a bunch of tools and equipment!

It's been 2 years since purchase of the property. hubby and I had about 7 acres cleared and had a driveway and culvert put in. Had some aggregate put on driveway. Pruned trees, picked up A LOT of the remains of the clearing. Did some spraying to keep the junk trees from coming back. Did a lot of cutting, cleared land now mostly grass, not weeds! House pad and pond finished. A LOT of work, but I love it love it love it. My life dream for sure, so every bit of work hubby and I do on it is a joy.

Camped a good handful of times on the property.

Taking us a long time to develop the property and get is ready for us to live on it, because we are paying in full as we go. And, we can only save up money the best we can, but it is never enough or fast enough, you know.

Next up is fencing, water well, sewer, and mobile home!

I estimate we will be moved in in 6-12 months.

Thanks for the update DS. Sounds like you've gotten quite a bit done, especially since you're paying as you go. Which is fantastic and no easy feat in itself.

Keep the updates coming!
