Post bamboo ideas

Hello everyone.

I have a small bamboo patch and over the years have found some good uses for it. Below is my list. I would appreciate any other ideas anyone has for bamboo.

Things I do with bamboo:
Musical instruments
Bird houses
Garden stakes
Arrows for my long bow
Fishing pole
Kite frames
Tree taps for maple and birch sap
Eating the shoots
Using the leaves as a weed inhibitor (similar to pine needles)
Bird sanctuary
Picture frames
Above ground water pipe
Poles for nut and fruit picking
Furniture frames, stools and tables

[QUOTE=rolson3819;419681]Hello everyone.

I have a small bamboo patch and over the years have found some good uses for it. Below is my list. I would appreciate any other ideas anyone has for bamboo.

Hi Rolson, I am pretty new here and while I don't have any ideas for you, you may have given me an idea when you said above ground water pipes.
I know that there are some species of Bamboo that grows to a pretty good size, up to something like maybe 6 to 8 inches, and I was wondering if you might know just what they are and where I could order them from??
And I was also wondering if you have any clue as to how many PSI pressure bamboo will hold without bursting??

Wait a minute here. Maybe I do have one for you. You could probably use them to build a water wheel with. I was just thinking to start with about piping water to a water wheel instead of building a sleuth. If I build one where I want to, I'l have to pipe the water several hundred feet and with plastic pipe that will cost more than all the rest of the set up. I know where I can get all the rubber collars from 4" all the way up to about 10" for nothing hardly. The guy bought a trailer load of them in all different sizes but the largest ones he has ever sold has been 3 1/2" and a few 4" ones.
I built a bunch of shelves in one of his old house trailers he stores things in and stacked them all up and he said then he should probably just burn all the biggest ones and said he'd already made all he paid for them and earned about that much clear to off of them.
Thanks for the idea.
