Default A rosebush

A woman had a rose bush. It tried several times to grow roses, but the woman would always cut off the buds before they could bloom. The buds would be in the wrong place on the plant for her liking, or too small, or too large, or not soon enough in spring, or too soon, or simply caught her eye when she had some shears handy. So the rose bush grew thorns instead to keep her away. The woman then complained that the rose bush was bad and never even tried to grow anything good.

It is not your place to change others for your convenience.

By abusing those in your care, you twist their growth.

And a few others.
