Sorry. It worked when I posted it, but they may have dropped the story. A two-car non-fatal accident was caused in Southeast Alaska because both drivers swerved to avoid a marten that was dragging a chicken across the road.

It is good there were no deaths involved..
However property loss is a good tool to teach drivers a valuable lesson..

As a commercial driver it was officially taught "do what you can to avoid an accident" The bottom line meaning of this is the same as the unofficial message..

That is if little Fluffy, or wild animal, or even grandma pulls out in front of you, it it will cause the least danger to you and other public, hit Fluffy or grandma.. They already put there selves in danger.. Don't needlessly endanger yourself or possibly many others with your actions..

A number of years ago a well known east coast animal rights person swerved to avoid something.. Killed himself and very badly injured his passenger, one or more.. All this over a small animal..

Too bad, but Darwin again..
