I remember most of the video games from the late 80s and early 90s being absolute garbage, and for $50 a cartridge it was expensive garbage.

my older brother had a pong and I remember wondering why he was entertained by something so stinking boring. I remember a battery operated horse race toy he had that was so cool but one or two of the horses was rigged.
