Have you checked your "spam" folder to see if it's there?

Here is how to reveal your password instead of the dots..

Right click on the password box with the dots in it. Click on inspect element.

Here, you can find an attribute called type=”password”.

Double click on it, remove the word, password and write text instead of password. That means, after editing the line, it should look like this – type=”text”.
Now, you can find your password revealed in text in the corresponding password box.
You can copy your password, but, if you refresh the page, your password will appear as dots.
This method help you show the saved password in text instead of dots or asterisks, when you forget them.

Can't seem to get a anyone to respond to "recover password" procedure.

After this....not sure I want to mess with it.

i too noticed that activity has dropped on the forum substantially, i have had to resort to the facebook sites to keep winter boredom down
That's exactly why I don't use Facebook groups. I hadn't had an account in years so I opened one to see if it had gotten any better and it's worse. I hope this forum doesn't die and gets more users. I know I don't post much but it's the only place I've found online that's worth being on.

it also took awhile to get in ,having forgotten my password, I havnt been here for well over a year, mainly I have been busy and iam not really into forums, unless theyare interesting and imformative, in the beginning, it was, but always some type of drama and seems like some one was always being attacked so I back off but check in to see any thing new, I belive if there was ever a time for a forum and like minded people banding together it would be now

Just trying to help YOU resolve your password issue since apparently no one has the admin controls any longer. Your request for a lost password goes to an admin who initiates a new temp password for you to access the forum and change it to your own. No admin = no response.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound snippy...I apologize.

I am just frustrated with the whole process.....or lack of it.

....And If I try that stuff.....and sign out....may never be able to sign back it....
Thanks for your help.

All this depressing talk about the forum going down is making me sad.
Mainly because I am one of those peeps that left for a while and now I am back. I got busy with life and forgot for a time. Then I had a life event that jarred my memory and I was like "wait I loved that forum I need to check in" so now I check in almost daily. I do not recall anyone being rude to me but I wasn't that active before. What is this talk about the magazine ending or do you mean the website? I thought all was going well I did notice the traffic here was tapering off some. Maybe if everyone made a point to post something. If you got knowledge share it. Some of us are still dummies .

Well I have been absent quite a while. I would hate to see this site go away.
Whenever I am elsewhere I recommend this site because of the wealth of information from people that walk the walk. Lately I have been so darn busy trying to keep up with all the demands of being somewhat self sufficient, and growing older, takes a lot more effort with a lot less available energy.

Default Had to be manually activated

I could not get the initial or automatic email reset to work. I had to have a forum administration manually activate my account.

As for the post volume, it appears like a dead or almost dead forum here. So few posts and so many are months old back from now. Hard to engage in a forum when it is a cyber ghost town. At least for the subforums I visit here.

I know the print version of BWH is switching to Kindle only after the December issue, which is bad enough as I don't own a Kindle and don't want one, but at least I can catch up at the end of the year by buying the anthologies each Dec. Which I intend to do.

But I hope the forum doesn't disappear. I don't get here that often, but I enjoy the site. I'll try to make an effort to get here more often and hope others will too.

Default Forum dying?

Hello, all...

I'm one of those who has been missing in action for a while. Maybe the last election sucked my soul, I dunno.

I did check in to ask about keeping a loaded gun by the bed, but nothing since then.

I miss the people here. This is an oasis of sanity in a world gone mad and I want to come back.

Maybe changing this forum to a newer format would help. I don't know but it's a thought. I know most forums struggle now to compete against Facebook but they still have their place. There are newer more user friendly forum softwares out there that might help. I'm not an expert on this but I know it can be done.

I hope they don't go strictly to Facebook, as I'm not on there and have no desire to be.
