Default How do you make acorns edible?

I'd rather have the deer eat the acorns and then eat the deer, but if push comes to shove, I'd like to know how to prepare acorns.

In this issue of BWH, a reader wrote Jackie Clay asking if the removal of the tannins will make the acorns less bitter and therefore edible. Jackie agreed but failed to mention how one removes the tannins.

Any ideas?
