Yep, it was supposed to be 30. The hoop houses weren’t heated as we’d spent most of the day splitting wood as the sun was out and we had visitors. We figured, “Well, 30 will be okay.” Oh well, we were wrong. The peppers all froze. Today, we’ll pick all of them, although we were hoping to keep the plants going for a couple more weeks. I need lots of Striped Sugar Rush Peach peppers for my Gaucho relish. Hopefully, our friends, Lynn and Jesse, who now run our seed business, and are coming Saturday to pick up tons of squash, pumpkins, beans, corn, etc. will be bringing some.

Today, after splitting wood this morning, I’m canning up the last of the apples. Yum!

Yesterday, I went out and picked the rest of the dry beans, getting quite a few. While I did that, Will pulled another row of onions. They were not very big, but he got a pail full. And I have another pail full that our friend, Heather, pulled last week. We still have two more rows I planted very late, to pull. Yes, most are smaller too.
