There were broken trees, smaller trees bent permanently over the drive, and many dead small trees down across it. While they were out there, I moved the now-big peppers to our enclosed porch where the cooler temperatures will keep them growing slower because it’s still more than 4 weeks before we’ll be setting out the first ones. All of our peppers look great! Now I’ve got to get the tomatoes transplanted — they really need it! But today I’m blogging and the computer is so slow today! I’m also boiling down ham hocks and beef soup bones for soup stock as we’ve got the freezer emptied — it was drawing too much juice, now that the temperatures are higher.

Will moved the propane refrigerator that was in our old travel trailer down to the basement and set it to its lowest setting, which is well below freezing, so it is now our temporary freezer for the remainder of our meat.

Tomorrow I’ll be canning split pea w/ham soup and beef broth as well as transplanting tomatoes.
