Covered in this second seminar will be these important skills:<\/p>\n<p>Canning jams, jellies, and preserves<br \/>\nCanning vegetables using a pressure canner<br \/>\nCanning meat and meat products using a pressure canner<br \/>\nHomestead tools<br \/>\nChickens on the homestead<br \/>\nHow to harvest and save seeds from open pollinated vegetables<br \/>\nCheesemaking<br \/>\nSelf-reliant living on a shoestring<\/p>\n<p>This will be a hands-on experience right in our garden, livestock pens, and kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, there will be ample time for questions during and after each workshop, a guided tour (by us) of the homestead explaining how and what we are doing to increase our self-sufficiency on a limited budget. It\u2019s a seminar like no other limited to only 15 people to give each person a chance to participate fully.<\/p>\n<p>This seminar will be Friday, August 17th; Saturday, August 18th; and Sunday, August 19th, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Contact Will and Jackie for further information at Jackie_at_backwoodshome.com.
