Up on cement piers, I can walk under the floor joists.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We have had temperatures in the sunny thirties so this past weekend we got to work on David and Ashley’s new cabin. Although David has been working on a bandsaw mill at his work (Voyageur Log Homes) for several months, that machine is much different than our little Hud-Son mill where you do everything by hand. So Will taught David how to use our mill and they cut the final few 2″x12″ floor joists, Then they went to work on the floor joists. By evening, David had run out of nails for his nail gun. Will had some but they were a little different and only drove partway in. So they quit for the evening.<\/p>\n

This morning, Ashley and I went to town and bought another box of nails and a couple more little plastic greenhouses so we could put more flats of plants on the enclosed back porch as we’re running out of room on the ones we already have. I’d bought one at WalMart but it was a really small version of the ones which are commonly sold. Cute but not efficient. So if you’re going to buy a plastic greenhouse, look carefully at the size; mine was only 11.4 inches deep. Only room for one flat per shelf, where our old ones have room for two flats! And the little one cost as much as the “normal” ones!<\/p>\n

David got off work earlier today so it’s off to the cabin site. — Jackie<\/p>\n
