A couple of months ago, after we had finished the audio version of Michelle Obama’s book, I told my wife “I wouldn’t be surprised if she wound up being drafted as the next Presidential nominee by the DNC.” It turns out that I wasn’t the only one who saw that possibility, some long before I did.
Along about the second of the Democrat Presidential Candidate Debates, uber-liberal anti-gunner Michael Moore declared Michelle Obama to be his only hope.
My favorite Chicago Tribune columnist, John Kass, takes the possibility of a Michelle Obama candidacy seriously, also.
Michelle Obama is brilliant and charismatic, a hugely popular household name. Her gender and ethnicity check two boxes important to the Democrat base. She is extremely articulate, and would handle herself well in debate. She is not without some drawbacks; her comments about America and the exact circumstances of her giving up the practice of law might become issues. And from the perspective of us firearm owners, there is little doubt that she would share her husband’s passion for anti-gun legislation.
I think it’s something to be prepared for. What do you readers think about the matter?
